Brief Description:  Acquired project

My buddy Michael and I decided that it would be best if I moved his project to my hangar shop at the airport (KOGB). Thus far, he's done a super job on the woodwork for the fuselage of the Piet. The goal is for Rod and I to finish this bird up by summer of 2015 and good old Michael will have fun with us!

The project already has the basic fuselage structure complete (skeleton only). Also in the mix are the completely framed HStav, VStab and elevator assemblies. Michael had purchased a set of Christavia wings from a local friend of ours for $100. The left wing panel was already assembled, along with all of the right wing panel ribs. The material was included for the main spars on the right wing, so it's just a matter of putting iit together. The kicker is I'll have to "doc" a bay off the root sections of both halves in order to make the wing the correct span and place the strut attach points in approximately the right spot to work with the 3pc wing modifications.

The Christavia wing, though different, should work fine as the aircrafts gross weight is 300 lbs more than the Piet, has the same +6/-3 rating (at gross weight), and I did the calcs on the spars myself and they came out perfect.

I'll have to improvise some compression struts and drag/anti-drag wires since the right panel doesn't have it's complement, but I'll proabably replace everything with the Piet standard setup. Ailerons are of the Frise type, which should not pose a problem at all in flight characteristics.

Hours in this section are estimate to get to this point, including what has been done to the wings, fuselage and tail sections.
