I have Van’s static port system with my QB stuff. I was a little surprised but all it consists of is a couple of quick rivets and some hose. The quick rivets are places on the outside skin of the aft fuselage in front of the HS. The mandrel is knocked out of the rivet and a hose is placed over the rivet. It gives a real smooth finish.
Mel Asberry says the system works great and he has inspected a lot of them so here we go.
Change of plans, I am installing the SafeAir static ports. I did not like the way the hose connected to the Van's ports using Proseal. The SafeAir ports have a threaded connection.
