Good day today! Decided that there was enough room for a vertical card compass on the left of the panel, so hole cut for it. Modified the GTN rack as it wasnt quite 'square'. Braced the rack with 'U'section extrusion from the GTN rack to the rear cross member. Feels really solid now, Made a rack for the DME monitor, with a secure bolt-down strap. Trial fitted the avionics cover and it fits well.. phew!
Moved the Brake control upwards, and routed the cable through the avioinics shelf to the park brake lever. Happy it will work when finally assembled. Fitted the Oil cooler shutter control to the back of the avionics bay, out towards the left, and then it will pass through the firewall to the oil shutter.
Decided to reinforce the panel with two aluminium cross braces between the top of the panel to the rear of the avionics wall. Threaded the tube and screwed to position. Really great stabilising effect... very happy
