Brief Description:  more fibreglassing...

Lots done today, but as usual, it doesnt look like it!

Sanded and second-primed the rear of the canopy frame... cant tell where I chopped 2" off and replaced it; Really pleased.

fibreglass reinforced the front port corner of the frame, and added opexy/microfibre mix to start the process of matching the fuselage and frame profiles. Re-dsicovered a problem witht the top skin... slight waviness where the skin is rivetted to the bulkheads... not much, but irritating. the depth is about 1/8" inch so need s filling. Rather than just fill it with epoxy, I glassed a patch to the skin, then added the epoxy/microfibre/silica/microballoons to fill the gap. just waiting for it to go off and then more sanding!
started to smooth out the join between the two cowling halves. put 18g wire along the hinge line, then filled over it, extending out about 3 inches (the halves meet with a bit of a 'tight waistbelt' appearance that I wanted to flatten out. Added advantage was that it sinks the hinge line in about 1mm, and hides it. Great straight line between the halves after sanding... looks much better.
