Brief Description:  Braking system

A day without sanding!

Refitted the brake system... I had the brake cylinders the wrong way round so had to swap them.
Fitted the low-pressure brake lines to the master cylinder.
Fitted the brake unit to the baggage wall, then started to install the high pressure line to the fitting on the Grove gear... that's where the problems started.

I had drilled the floor to accomodate the NPT to AN4 fitting, but didnt make the hole gig enough for the hex nut expanded part, so I could only screw it part way in before ithe fitting hit the floor! What a bugger!

Fortunately, the Dremell flexible drive shaft and a burr allowed me to expand the drilled hole to the correct size (after plugging the hole!)
The next problem was that when I used a 1/2 inch socket to insert the fitting, I scored the taper so it would leak... 4 new NPT/AN-4 adapters ordered, and I then remembered I had a set of deep sockets that would have prevented the damage!. What a bugger...I'll fit the new ones at the weekend.
I put a 90 degree fitting to the brake unit, but when I tried to fit the second one, the fittings hit each other! What a stupid design... another 1/16" wider and it would have looked great. Had to use a straight adapter, then a 90 degree adapter for the sb side. Might need to redo the aluminium pipework given the change in fittings... hey ho!
