Brief Description: Baggage door lock finally installed
|

Fitted the baggage door lock plastic blocks to the firewall and instrument panel bulkhead. After scratching my head for a while, trying to figure out how to mark the position of the blockd for drilling, with absolutely no acces to the interior, I managed it!
I put a strip of 'Blu-tack" onto eacj bulkhead, closed the door and fully extended the locking pins. This made a very clear mark in the blutack, and then I used a matching hole punch to mark the location. I then fitted the blocks with double sided tape, and checked that it worked.. which it did!
With the blocks locked, I match drilled from the outside, then final drilled on the drill press.
Perfect fit!
Next job was to rivet the Garmin pitch servo mount in place, after confirming with LAA that I should follow the manufacturer's instructions, and there are no additional requirements.
