Brief Description: HS dismantled and rudder cables fitted
Started to sort out the cock=up with the HS installation. Checked on the internet on how to do the HS Spar mod,the first part of which is basically what I need to do. Removed the rivets from the skin that attach the inboard ribs and removed them without damaging any holes. Removed the lower spar brace by drilling out numerous AN470 rivets inside the stabiliser. A bit tricky, but again managed witout enlarging any holes. Essential tools were the 90 dgeree drill attachment and als a sharp cold chisel to displace the shop end of the rivet prior to punching through. More room than I expected, Made a template of the bolt holes from the original section, ready for the replacement part which has arrived in the UK and should be here by the weekend. Massively relieved with how it went...
Deburred and prepped all of the empennage attachment bolt holes, fitted the bolts that hold the tailwheel in place. Fitted the rudder cables.
