Brief Description:  Tank preparation

Started work to convert left tank to flop tubes... then realised I had forgotten to order them! Quick email to Van's and they will be here in 2 days!

The float fule sender need to be moved to the second compartment, a new location for the AN 90 degree tank fitting needs drilling out, and a few bits to be made for inside the first compartment.
Constructed a 'trap door to restrict fuel flow from the first compartment to the second to ensure that the first compartment retains as much fuel as possible. Th eother large hole between the first and second compartments will need sealing off with a small plate, and a couple of strips of aluminium fabricated to prvent the flop tubes jamming in a couple of locations. All a bit fiddly, working through the inspection hole on the first rib.
The leading edge rib reinforcement is fixed with AN470 rivets, and thees prevent the locking nut on the tank bulkead fitting from seating down properly... so they have to be drilled out, countersunk and prepped for AN 426 rivets instead. Easier to get the proseal off on the inside of the tank than I was expecting.
The fule senders are 'sided' when attached in the standard position, and the screws are canted at an angle to ensure that the float mechanism is upright in straight and level flight. When mounted through the rear baffle, need to ensure that the float mechanism is vertical.
