Decided a few rivets on the right elevator didnt meet 'Quality control' standards.. amazing how much the primer highlights 'deficiencies' rather than hiding them!. Rivets swapped, and looked better. The lead counterweight needed tweaking as the previously drilled holes didnt match properly. How on earth was I going to fix this? Drilling holes in the new location would create a massive oval slot that would be completely inadequate? Decided to melt some spare lead, fill the hole and then start again. Worked fine, can't see the defect at all!
Had to pop out to do a couple of hip replacements in the afternoon, but got back later to do more. It's a bugger when the day job gets in the way of real work!
Rivetted the left elevator rib tips, then the hinge plates to the spar.
