Decided to start the fastback installation as part of it involves removing bits from the QB fuselage and trimming bits off it... no point priming first then cutting it apart...
The instructions for the FB kit are good, but are a bit out of date. Some of the steps have now been done by Showplanes, so a bit less work. Prepared the new bulkheads, fluting them straight, trial fitting, then ensuring the flanges are at the correct angle for the skin. Much sanding, filing and trimming to make them all line up nicely.
Good to be doing some real construction again!
Had to drill out all of the rivets holding the side skin to the upper longeron Got the skin rolled over the bulkheads, fitting the FB skin in between the side skin and longeron in order to help keep it in place. Difficult to get the bulkheads lined up, but much easier being able to turn the fuselage on the rotisserie.
