I have been out of town for about a month, so progress was halted. I have now begun work on the aileron bellcranks. This required cutting and bending some .063 4130 into the proper form, then welding to a 1/2 OD tube. The tube was welded, then reamed as needed to allow smooth rotation of a 3/8 dia inner tube. Images 1-3 show the process. Welding of the first arm in image 1 required making a wooden holding fixture to make sure everything was square to the tube. The wood lasts just about two welds before it burns up.
