Brief Description: Wing Leading Edge Rivet Pattern Work
The process for drilling the leading edge skin to the ribs is supposed to involve marking the rib/spar location on the skin then drawing a 90 degree line forward on the skin to show where the holes will be. The rib is then nudged into position on the line. However, on the inboard ribs, the position of the ribs is fixed and repositioning will not be possible. As a result, I want to make sure that I get the holes in exactly the right location. One way to do this may be with a template that is later affixed to the inside of the leading edge skin for hole location. I am still thinking about how to do this. In the meantime, I have decided to move forward with other details of the wing structure. Also, I want to have all the substructure riveting done before I do the final hole location work for the skin. (Small movements during riveting and setup can come back to bite you on this sort of thing)
