Brief Description:  Finished Tail Wheel Spring Mount

I did not drill the attach hole for the tail wheel spring when I built the mount because I wanted to get the spring first. That way, if the spring had a hole pre drilled in it, I could match drill the mount to the spring. I now have the spring (steel rod) from Mustang Aero. I had Mustang Aero send the spring to Dick Eaves, and he helped out by rebending the spring and getting it heat treated. He did a real good job straightening the rod. It is almost perfectly symmetrical now. Oh, one thing of interest, the spring from Mustang Aero is a smaller diameter than specified by the plans at the fuselage interface. It requires the addition of a steel tube to act as a spacer between the rod and the mount. One more thing, as it turns out, the rod was predrilled with a slight angle....so it is a good thing I waited to match drill the mount to it, or I would have had some repair to do.
