I cut and flanged the holes in the inner baggage door skin. Next I started working on the door perimeter fit. I also trimmed the area around the hinge line to get the door to open at least 90 degrees without hitting the adjacent skin. It turns out that the fit of the door is pretty good but not perfect (from a skin contour mismatch perspective) The mismatch is currently within about .032 inches. I may have to do some tweaking to get it perfect, but I feel like I would be wasting my time trying to do it before final riveting. Next is to fabricate and fit the hold down blocks and opening mechanism.....should be fun.
