With the Spar Caps riveted, I went back and riveted all of the spacers that are located between the spar caps. Dick Eaves recommends adding ProSeal between the spacers and spar caps when this is done. I understand why you would want to do that at this stage for the inboard spacers, but not for all the others. However, since it was recommended and since it was no real bother, I sealed all of the spacers when rivet. The spacers are held with double flush rivets. That means you have to countersink both sides of the spacers. Once the rivets were set, the shop head side of the rivet had to be shaved. In 1983 I bought a rivet shaver from a surplus sale at work (then General Dynamics) ...That pre-planning finally paid off, Ha Ha.
