Brief Description:  Prep for Right Spar Set-up

Once the right spar was drilled, I started to work on the left side.
One of the fittings on the left side was still 17/32, so I reamed it up to 35/64. I should mention that my set up pins are 35/64. This is very close to the final size and is one of the reasons that I spend so much time trying to get everything square and level the best I can. I also tried to get all the cap strips to be a very tight fit on these pins. The reason is that any misalignment needs to be removed when the final ream to (roughly) 0.560 is completed. If the misalignment is too great, the ream will not cover the entire thickness of material. Anyway, small mistakes here matter.
One other side note, hand reaming technique is a thing. I am adjusting the "bite" of the reamer about 1/8 of a turn at a time. Also, it's important to have the reamer through both ends of the fittings at the same time to steady the angle. One more thing, I have three hand reamers in this size range, and they all cut differently. There are very minor tapers on them in various spots along the cut, so, you have to go slowly and know your reamer. This whole process is worrysome since an error could conceivably throw months of work down the drain. I'm hoping that things are more fun once the spar has been completed.
