Wings were installed in order to verify the alignment with the tailplane. It is easier to verify the level mounting of the fuselage if the wings are installed. That way, small roll misalignment shows up as large wingtip elevation changes. To install the wings, a fixture was made to mount on my mobile tripods. There is a welded subframe that has contoured wing sections bolted to it. These contoured sections were then covered in carpet to protect the wing. The left wing installed fairly easily, but the right wing took some effort. There will be some minor trim and interface bending work to do before the final installation of the left wing, but overall, the fit was good. It is now possible to get a feel for what the completed airplane will look like (I have never seen a Nexus Mustang in real life)
