Brief Description:  Firewall Flange Fabrication

Started fabrication of the flange that will be needed for the cowling attach features in the future. The angle that the cowl will intersect the firewall varies from 87 degrees on the top to 90 degrees on the sides then 85 degrees on the bottom. This means that the flange will not be a simple straight band. I made a simple gauge to check the angles, then installed the .040 flange in three separate pieces. Of note is the fact that on the left side aft of the bulkhead, a flange is needed for the location of a future baggage door. This flange needs to be rolled in a direction perpendicular to the bend of the bulkhead. As a result, I had to shrink the flange to get it formed properly.
Also of note, I wanted to make sure the bulkhead remained flat during the fabrication of the flange. I will also need the bulkhead to retain the proper orientation of the engine mount hardpoints, To accomplish this, I installed the mount using set-up bolts to insure it will all fit properly in the future.
