Brief Description: Restart Project in New Location
Well, after several years off from building the Nexus, I am just about ready to start again. But slowly..... As most of my friends know, I spent the last few years remodeling my old house while designing and building a new hangar/home. I have now sold the old home, completed the new one, and am fully moved in. I took a couple of pictures of the new build location for the Nexus (and base of operation for my RV-4). Once I got the Nexus fixtures set up and located, I had a lot more room to fully check the alignment of everything. I was disheartened to see that I still had some twist in the fuselage, and that twist propagated itself into excessive vertical fin offset. Also, in re-looking at the project with fresh eyes, there were other things that I was not happy with. These are the things that make it hard to continue a project with enthusiasm. I have no illusion about quickly finishing this project, and I look at it more as a pass-time than something that must be completed. I think to really make quick progress on something like this, you must be retired....or at least not working a full time job. But at any rate, I am going to take a few steps backward before moving forward again. So the log will be focused on fixing and rebuilding a few things for a while. Having said all that, the work environment is now pretty nice, so, here we go again.
By the way, when I quit log entries about 3 years ago, I said I hoped somone else would start to log their progress so that I could live vicariously through them....but I have not found another active Nexus log out there. Is there one?
