Brief Description: Drilling the fin skin substructure
The skins were then reinstalled, and I tried to view the centerlines on the substructure through the holes I drilled in the skin. I also used the laser to strike a line on the leading edge of the skin to ensure it was vertical and in alignment with the aft spar. Next I drilled all of the holes in the substructure using the holes in the skin as a guide. The skin was then removed and I checked to see if the holes were where they are supposed to be on the substructure. It turns out that they are not exactly where I wanted them, but they are close enough that all edge distances are maintained. (I think that the trailing edge of the skin when taped in place for marking the holes must have been pulling the tracing paper slightly out of its ideal position.)

Holes are not in perfect location...but close enough.
