Brief Description:  Finished/Inspected VS, Assembled HS Front Spar

Today the Vertical Stablizer was only missing one piece: the aft spar that closes the skin up and keeps you from looking inside. I left it off so an EAA Technical Counselor, Jerald, could come by and inspect the rivets. He liked all but three on the very bottom, so I still need to drill out and replace those.

The three rivets are a "-4" thickness, and I'll need to replace them with a "-5" rivet, which is a fatter size that I don't have in my possession, so I'll get some from him on Saturday.

After Gerald left, I riveted the aft spar to the VS and moved it back to the shop to prepare for the drilling this next weekend. I'll take a picture of that completed assembly once I'm totally done with it.

Afterwards, I brought the two HS spars to my apartment and began assemling and riveting. I was able to completely finish attaching the aft spar stiffener and elevator brackets. The front spar is the one with the more complex "H" shaped stiffener and the long extruded "L" shaped stringers on the inside of the channels.
