Brief Description:  VS structure, HS spars

Today and yesterday I re-assembled, match-drilled, de-burred, and disassembled the Vertical Stabilizer (VS). I also ordered the remainder of the replacement parts for the rudder, and did some work on the two Horizontal Stabilizer (HS) spars. The longest part of today was the preparation and match-drilling of the three stiffeners shown in the attached pictures. They were solid parts, entirely undrilled, and so it requried extensive work getting perfect alignment.

I counted holes on the spar, marked the parts, slid the stiffener back and forth until it was even on both sides. I then clamped, drilled, disassembled, deburred, reassembled, re-clamped, added clecos to the new holes, then match drilled along the second side of the stiffener. Then I repeated this process for the other stiffener. These stiffeners are important; they give the strength to the aircraft to pull the advertised G's of +6 to -3 G's.

The next step is to prime everything that's so far been re-done. That's why I started over, to prime everything.
