Brief Description: Cleco'd Left Rudder, Drilled VS Skin
|
|
I hopped over to the garage today for a short bit, Kayla was watching a detective show with Quigley, so we're all happy here. I finished what I'd started on Monday evening, and finished putting clecos into the starboard (right) rudder skin. I then set it aside and completed one more step on the vertical stabilizer: match drill every hole in the skin that connects to a rib underneath.
That's the second interaction I've had with each vertical stablizer skin hole. 1.) Cleco. 2.) Match-Drill.
Later, it'll be: 3.) Prime, 4.) Dimple, 5.) Rivet.
The match-drilling on the holes made a barely perceptible yet required difference in the size of the holes, so no pictures of it today. Just the rudder skin. It's certainly not necessary to cleco literally every possible hole, but I like the visuals it produces.
As an aside, here's how I remember port and starboard.
LEFT RIGHT PORT STARBOARD
Right has more "R"s than Left Starboard has more R's than Port
Starboard is longer than port Right is longer than left
Port is four letters Left is four letter.
