Brief Description:  Trimmed Rudder Stiffeners

My band saw and replacement parts arrived. The drill press will take a few more weeks. With that I finished the work on the rudder stiffeners. An earlier log showed the stiffeners cleko'd together but not trimmed, which led to rectangular edges. I just wanted to get an idea where these parts were taking me at that time.

I disassembled the rudder and passed the stiffeners through the band saw. It didn't achieve very clean cuts, so I cut short of what was needed and used my scotchbrite grinding wheel to get the final shape and smoothness. The rudder has been re-assembled.

I spent a few more hours organizing the garage a bit more and practicing riveting. A major sticking point right now is getting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for priming. I've got everything except the stuff required to keep me alive. It's been very difficult locating a forced air respirator for a reasonable price. I'll be looking in auto paint shops next for the gear I need.
