I decided to dedicate part of the garage to being a spray booth. I got plastic drop cloths, shower curtains, and duct tape and went to town. I could have measured and planned it out, added wood or PVC for struts and support.... But in the end it's just a spray booth so I didn't waste my time or or money on precision. Its sole purpose is to protect the garage walls, and keep most debris out. I joke that it looks like the plastic-draped rooms from ShowTime's TV show "Dexter". But the only thing I'll be killing in here is corrosion - this is where I'll spray my primer.
I've decided on Pre-Kote for surface preparation of the metal, and AKZO two-part epoxy for the primer. Pre-Kote is nearly non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. AKZO, which cures green, is widely used in the military aerospace world. The priming gun I got is a 3M Accuspray. It'll drastically reduce the cleaning time and cleaning materials I'll have to use compared to cheaper guns.
I'll add an entry or two on the priming process once I get there.
