The oil access door needs to have a 1/4" foam epoxied to the undersurface. Then I lay one layer of bidirectional cloth with epoxy over the foam. There was a slight twist in the door, so as this lay up cured, I applied weight to the outside of the door and used wax on the cowl at sites to prevent the epoxy from sticking to the cowl. Then when I mounted the door to the cowl I added a strip of 0.031 aluminum to recess the hinge deeper into the cowl so less showed on the surface. I then lay up flox/epoxy to level the cowl to the door. Before this mixture cured, I ran the thickness of a hacksaw blade between cowl and door to accomodate paint. I used the kit camlocks to fasten the door. I think this is the most secure.
