The cut out for the oil access door is straight forward. There is an inner lip that is depressed where the door is meant to fit into. After placing the hinges, I cut the door down to fit in the depressed areas. I shaved the depressed areas and sanded the doors where it contacts the cowl in order to get the door to rest level. I may end up adding some epoxy/flox to assure at least the fwd portion of the door is flush and will not be raised with air rushing over the cowl. I plan to install an aluminum plate to the undersurface of the door to add rigidity.
