Brief Description:  Cowl

There is an air scoop on the fwd outside of the cowl that allows air into the FAB. The gap between the FAB and the cowl needs to be filled to prevent loss of intake air. The instructions call for placing a 2 inch foam between the gap, then clearing out the inside of the foam so that a channel is created between the fwd outside of the cowl and the fwd of the FAB. Following directions, this was fairly easy. Then I placed 3 layers of 45 degree cloth with epoxy in the inside of this hole. In order to hold the cloth against the wall of the hole, a balloon is needed. The balloon needs to be large enough to compress the fwd and aft edges of the tunnel as well as the center. After this cures I can trim the foam away and be left with the fiberglas tunnel that will connect with the cowl to the FAB.
