The fairing that goes over the landing gear strut is fashioned similar to that over the main landing gear. The fwd portion needs to be shaped so that it comes close to but does not interfere with the fairing over the nose wheel. When placing the piano hinge in the fairing, don't force it into position but let it set in place, clamp and then begin drilling for the rivets. I needed to add oil to the pin so that it would slide into place holding the hinge halves together.
