Since I have a three blade prop, it has been necessary to cut the slot in the lower cowl longer than per plans. I cut a further 8 inches to make it easier to get the cowl off. I used a portion of the aft cowl I had cut off to make a filler piece. Once the lower cowl is on I want to fill in the space with the filler. I placed 5 layers of fiberglas cloth on the back side of the filler and will place nutplates there to screw into from the outside of the cowl. I placed portions of the hinge on the upper and lower cowls so I can fit them together.
