Brief Description:  Cowl

The lower hinge that holds the lower cowl is known to break so I replaced it with a .063 piece of aluminum. I drilled and primed the piece and riveted in place of the hinge. I plan to mount nutplages on the strip and then screw in the lower cowl into these nutplates. The cowl was finally fit and then I drilled holes around the perimeter per plans. Marking the cowl 5/8" fwd of the fwd edge of the fuselage and placing holes every 1" works fine. I duct taped the cowl in place and gradually drilled holes, clecoed and progressively removed more duct tape for more holes. I then machine countersunk the holes in the cowl.
