Spent time trimming aft upper and lower cowl so that space between spinner and fwd cowl were at least 1/8 inch. The lower portion was just 1/8 inch so I continued to trim the aft portion of the upper and lower cowl so that the space from the spinner would be adequate. The slot in the lower cowl extends 24" fwd from the aft edge of the lower cowl. I needed to mark the hinge locations on the fuselage so that when the cowl was in place I knew where the hinges would be. Once the cowl was in place, I marked cowl 5/8 inch fwd of the edge of the fuselage and this is where the holes will be drilled through the cowl into the underlying hinges.
