The space I created in the subpanel to accept the GTN weakened the subpanel. So I used the original Van's support that was intended to be placed under the actual panel, attached it to the fuselage side bulkheads and to angle aluminum that strattles the opening in the subpanel. This makes the subpanel very solid now. I plan to bolt this support in place so it can be removed if I need space behind the subpanel. Also it has several nutplates to its under surface. Those plus any nutplates I place on its aft surface will help with routing wire harnesses.
