Some elect to remove the external door handle and store in the baggage compartment. I am trying to fashion door locks on both doors. I have matching keys for the doors, baggage door and ignition. As someone already said, if you lose the key, you can't get into anything. I am trying to prevent with the door lock the upper push rod assembly from moving aft as the door is opened. Some are concerned the pushrod and lock can become jammed upon each other preventing the door from opening. I am adding a vertical piece of metal to the lock 'tang' so the push rod has a greater surface to contact. I will include a picture of that later.
