Brief Description:  Doors

Purchased from PlaneAround the 180 door latch mechanism. Sean S has provided great support. It requires some modifications from Van's plans. The most important is the gear rack provided from Van's must be cut in half to use the PlaneAround latch (Van's plans call to cut them essentially in thirds). I originally followed Van's plans. $180 mistake to replace the gear racks. It takes some time to mesh the 180 latch plans and Van's but a slow walk through the process results in success. The mid door gear box should not be mounted too low in the door as the lower recessed screws to hold it in place could crack the thin remaining door fiberglas at that point. Also I needed to create a 1/2 inch hole aft and foward of the gear box so I could see to run the aft push rod and gear rack into the gear box and attach and pin the mid gear rack/push rod to the aft gear rack as it proceeds fwd of the gear box. You can see the two holes in pic 1 aft and fwd of the gear box. Seems to work perfectly.
