Finished installing the hinges on the door and then removed the hinges to begin assembling the door handle/locking mechanism. Attaching the handle to the handle assembly requires tapping holes in the handle to accomodate a countersunk hole that holds the handle to the handle assembly. Needed to make another trip to Sears to purchase an 8-32 tap. Once the handle plates are aligned a #10 drill is called for to drill top and bottom holes. Only had a #12 so once again improvised. Will need to widen these holes a bit to accomodate the #10 screw. Brent Bowman, A & P mechanic visited my project today and offered some suggestions regarding brake lines and engine installation. He thought the fuel lines, riveting and electrical looked good so far.
