Brief Description: Preparing side skins for riveting
The left and right side skins needed to be dimpled. The underlying structures such as the upper and lower fuselage channels, the bulkhead side channels and the longerons needed to be machine countersunk to accept the flush head rivets from the overlying skins. The foot well rib intercostals, spacers, baggage floor angles and baggage door shims needed to be dimpled for the same reason. It was necessary to prime the longerons. Then the seat back brace was clecoed and then riveted to the fuselage bullkheads, the seat back brace gussets and the mid fuselage longerons. The baggage door seal angle was riveted to the left longeron. The mid fuselage longerons were riveted to the gusset which is attached to the rear spar bulkhead assembly.
