Brief Description:  Wing work log catch up / Final assembly

Wow!!! I've been so busy working on the plane that I haven't updated my log in a few weeks so the time of 22 hours is a guestimate but probably ended up being more. Since I last left off, I've made some BIG progress. Below is a listing of all the ""wing"" tasks completed.

- Recounter sunk all of the tank to spar #8 counter sinks to the proper depth.
- Deburred all rib flange rivet holes.
- Reprimed the main spar flange where I re-counter sunk.
- Masked off and touch-up primed all the rib flanges etc. after deburring.
- Dimpled all the ribs, making sure & triple checking myself on the inboard most rib where plate nuts will be installed for mounting the wing root fairing.
- Installed the leading edge sections. Here I used Cherry-Max 4-2 & 4-4 rivets for rear rib flange to main spar attachement. I used a harbor freight $4.00 rivet gun that I gound down for the tight fit & shortened the grip by an inch. Honestly, this is now my favorite rivet puller. I did suppliment (2) LP4-4 for for cherrymax on the center rib of the left leading edge. for some reason, I could not get the cherrymax to lock properly in 2 holes & the mandels kept snaping prematurely. So, after several attemps, I finally settled on a couple LP4-4's. Still somwhat of a conundrum but I pushed forward.
- Squeezed all the LE skin to main spar rivet lines.
- Installed floating plate nuts for the the inboard most fuel tank z-brakets with platenut pull rivets.
- Installed both fuel tanks with half of the hardware per the plans.
- Riveted on the top wing skins with the help of fellow builders Bill, Gordon and his son John.
- Ran the electrical conduit, pitot & AOA lines in the Left wing

THANKS GUYS!

Everything cam out perfect except a main spar ding which I buffed out & alodine coated.

At this point, Bill & I have one more 2 hour rivet session and both wing sections are ready to come off the stands.
