"Got alot done this weekend and started the fiberglass fun....

- Fitted the elevators and rudder to the HS & VS. Had to trim the flange on the HS so the counter weight arm had clarence to move freely. Its truely amazing how every thing goes together so smoothly!!! The quality in these prepunched kit is awesome. I could not be happier!

- Trimmed the fiberglass HS & VS tips... Messy!! The belt sander is the key here to keep the tips square.

- Preped and primed the elevator trim servo access plate and assembled the servo mount(s).

- Primed an extra trim tab and related parts. I'm not sure if I'm going to fab up some ribs or use the trim tab with folded end closures.

-Then It was on to the fiberglass tip closures. Cut and formed temporary foam ribs covered with packing tape so the west systems epoxy doesn't bond the ribs inplace. I used a little hot glue to keep the ribs in place. I also place the ribs about 1/8' in from the edge to create a nice concaved closure.

- With the ribs in place, I layed up the first layer of fiberglass & let the lay up cure.

EDIT: If I were to do this first lay up again, I'd definately put a layer of ""peal ply"" between the packing tape covered rib & the layup getting in there to scuff the surface for additional lay ups kind of sucks. Lesson learned :-)"
