Big day today… I riveted the trailing edge of the rudder. All went well and easier than I first thought. I’m kind of done with reading stuff on VAF that make different tasks sound much more difficult than they really are! Example: Pro-sealing & riveting the trailing edge of the rudder. Admittedly, it didn't turn out as pretty & as perfectly as I would have liked. But it did end up pretty darn good & I'm okay with the results. The trailing edge is not perfectly straight, It does have a very slight bow (less then 1/8th inch off at the peak of the bow). On the positive side this bow is in the right direction, as it might reduce any need for a rudder trim wedge to induce a little right rudder thus counteracting the slip-stream / left turning tendency. As for appearance, I did get a few dings due to experimenting with different flush sets. Its nothing a good paint job won't hide. Personally, I will never again use a swivel set for “double flush" rivets. I also starting rolling the leading edge but have not finished. Once that's done, we'll call the rudder complete less glass work which I plan on tackling shortly.
