AHHH! On a new project; the elevator(s). Well, at least till Thursday when it's time to rivet the trailing edge of the rudder and roll the leading edge. Till then, I'll hack away at the elevator(s). I had the day off today and started pulling the elevator parts. Great, first task stiffeners. Ugh!!!! And a ton of them!!!!. First, I rough trimmed all of the stiffeners by hand, including the sized ones for the left side. Then further shaped with the bench sander. And fine shaped / contoured & deburred on the scotch-brite wheel. This actually took me the better part of the day. I'm guessing It took me about 4.5 hours as I was not keeping real close track of shop time & got distracted a few times for lunch & misc tasks like taking Kade to the climbing gym for a hot date etc. Over all, these turned out great & it seemed to move along much quicker than the session I had for the rudder stiffeners. I'm glad to have them done! No more stiffeners for a while :-) Next up match drill all of these bad-boys.
