"This week I got (2) 3/8" x 12" x 18" A-36 steel plates in the mail... :-) Since. I'm waiting on my tool kit & emp kit, I didn't have much to do. Plus, Kim is oan a weekend get-a-way with the girls.... I had the need to build something. So, flush-embedded one of the steel plates in my primary workbench for a stationary backrivet plate. I got a second plate that will serve as a portable backrivet plate.
- Used my handy (cheap) harbor freight router to carve out a tray for the plate. It was a MESSY, pain in the butt process but I got a perfect / tight fit.
- Painted (red) edge extender lines. Hopefully, this will keep me from riveting off the edge of the plate.
- Put a coat of clear over the whole top of the bench. It wasn't dry yet when I took the pictures that's why it looks a little funky.
I happy about the way this turned out... I cant wait to start tearing this thing up."
