The titanium tailwheel rod had been previously drilled and reamed for a Vans tailwheel socket. Measured hole location and marked it on a Sonex specific tailwheel socket. Squared socket in drill press vise, drilling a 1/8" pilot hole. Extended pilot through to the opposite side. Had a degree or two out of square with the socket. Checked to ensure position would meet existing hole in rod. Updrilled with an 13/64" bit to allow the head of a #1 S&J tapered pin to start through the socket.
