Brief Description:  Trim Servo Wiring

Worked from home today. Took the stick grip tops and all the stuff for them plus a servo, relay deck, and LED position indicator home so that I could figure out how it all went together.

Wired up the stick grips (see pic). There really wasn't a lot of room between the top section and the bottom section. The aft lead for the nose-up trim switch is very close to the bottom housing and I had a heck of a time soldering the lead onto it--mostly because my soldering skills are weak. I did improve as I went though. It took me an hour and a half to solder the first one and 20 minutes on the second one. Mostly because I wasn't happy with the results on the first one and kept doing it over again until I liked it.

I decided that getting it all rigged up on my breakfast bar was the best way to learn how to wire the airplane. So, after soldering the switches I wired in the relay deck (allows either stick to make trim inputs) and the servo motor. I also wired in the LED for indicating what the trim position is. Glad I did it this way--now I have a thorough understanding of how it all goes together. It'll be much easier to install it for real into the airplane.
