Brief Description:  Trim Servo wiring, Rudder Stops

Forgot the camera at the hangar, again. I'll upload pics on Sunday or Monday.

Spent the whole day at the hangar today. Loved it. Nice having some time off to do some airplane work.

Since the canopy frame is away getting powder coated, I decided to work on some tasks that needed to be done, but were low priority. Dusted off my rusty soldering skills and installed the inline connector for the trim tab servo motor. This simple task took me 2 hours. Ugh. But, I won't have to cut wires if I need to replace the servo motor or remove the control surface. That's nice. Pic 1 shows the root of the left elevator where the connector is located.

Other task today was to fabricate new rudder stops. I made the others too short and they ended up binding the rudder cables when the cable retracted--not a good thing. So, I removed the old stops and made new ones. This was very time consuming--but fun. I got a bit fancy with the new stops and extended the top portion aft of the fuselage skin and into the corner created by the intersection of the rudder and the vertical stabilizer. This made for more contact area between the rudder horn and the stop. Lots of extra time today... ;-)
