I match drilled the motor mount to the firewall today. This wasn't too baqd at all--thanks to Van's tech support. The holes didn't line up really well, but they had a trick up their sleeve and had me pick a mount bolt hole and drill it to size. I bolted the motor mount to that hole and then match drilled the rest using the motor mount as a guide. Turned out really well.
Installed the nose gear leg and match drilled the retaining bolt.
Took everything apart and deburred it all. The motor mount bolts go through stainless steel (firewall), aluminum, and chrome moly (powder coated). After drilling these out for the bolts, I wanted to protect the metals from corrosion. So, I brushed in some self-etch primer. After it dried, I cleaned up the firewall.
