Cut out an over-sized left skirt and began mounting it to the left side of the frame. I left a good bit of excess metal hanging down so that I can make a nice, clean line from the front to the back that will cover the rivet line. Not a big deal, but I think that I'd like the look.
Before I try the english wheel on this new part, I went ahead and made the skirt brace that should pull the skirt in somewhat and stiffen it. I made it per the plans and cleco'd it to the inside of the side frame tube.
I played around with the hole spacing on the skirt where it attaches to the brace. If I had followed the plans verbatim, I'd have ended up with my rivets hitting in the gaps from the lightening holes. So, I tightened up the pattern and got it pretty well nailed.
