I really love tools and projects give me a "need" for new ones. ;-) Harbor Freight had this English Wheel on sale, finally. I've been wanting one to do the side skirts but wasn't willing to pay full price for it--especially since I've never used one. But, in keeping with the whole kitbuilding as a learning experience thing, I dove right in. (Truthfully, I love the learning part!)
I took one of my practice side skirts and started working the metal on the wheel for practice. The whel definitely stretches the metal as you work it and I was surprised how easily it changed the shape. I over-worked it a bit and ended up with a pucker from all of the excess metal. Will have to be careful when I am working on the real skirt. I'm going to need a lot of practice.
