Brief Description:  New Brake Cylinders

Took a few days off off working on the airplane--had to focus on making money. ;-)

Got the new brake cylinders in today and installed them. I was probably being overly conservative by replacing them; but, now I don't have to worry about them failing or leaking into the cockpit. So, I went ahead and installed them and got the elbows all lined up for the brake lines (to come later). I shied away from the tygon tubing that Van's supplies in the kit and decided to go with braided brake lines between the reservoir and the cylinders. (There are hardlines out to the calipers from the unions behind the pilot's pedals).

I also checked the sight-line from the cockpit to the floor/rudder pedals/firewall to see what is visible with the instrument panel in place and the sound deadener inserted. I plan to paint the white areas to make them disappear and paint some of the aluminum also. After looking at the sound deadener, I decided to use the excess that I have (a lot!) and make new panels with cleaner cuts.
