Banner day today. I located the centerline of the canopy and cut off the moulding surrounding the canopy edge (pic 1). Once I cut the moulding off it got considerably floppier. The main idea of removing the moulding was to get some practice cutting on the plexiglass. It was pretty slow going.
I positioned the canopy frame into the canopy to get the best fit. Pretty easy--the parts fit together very nicely right off the bat (pic 2). There is going to be a ton of trimming to get this to fit, though, since there is a lot of excess material.
Once I was happy with the location I got ready to drill the hole in the top of the canopy for the handle to pass through. I found this easiest to do by using a transfer punch onto whick I dabbed some wet paint and then touched the canopy through the hole (pic 3).
